The Grant Park Advisory Council, Rotary Club of Chicago Citywide Service and the South Loop Neighbors are hosting the inaugural Grant Park Neighborhood Ribfest. This event is intended to provide a festival in Grant Park targeted specifically to the 110,000 plus residents who live downtown and call Grant Park their neighborhood park. It is also intended to help raise funds for the 3 sponsoring organizations with the funds raised being equally divided between the 3 organizations.

Grant Park Advisory Council is looking for the event to raise funds for long-needed capital projects in Grant Park. The Chicago Park District is leading a planning process for Grant Park to identify future projects, which should include additional facilities for Park users like bathrooms, an improved dog friendly area and other amenities like the repair of historic infrastructure. Investment in Grant Park is an exciting opportunity to be a part of saving and improving the front yard of Chicago.

South Loop Neighbors is a non-profit membership based organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in South Loop's neighborhoods and preserving the area's landmark districts. The SLN conducts a variety of monthly activities meant to not only bring the residents together, thereby enhancing the sense of community, but also to keep the residents informed on issues of public concern. Funds raised from this event will help SLN in continuing and expanding the delivery of these services.

Rotary Club of Chicago Citywide Service organizes and coordinates a number of service projects and monies raised from this event will help financially support their service initiatives. The Club conducts multiple monthly local community service projects, from coordinating park clean-ups, working on literacy projects, at local food pantries, soup kitchens as well as other community organizations. The Club also coordinates at least one international service project annually, usually at a school in a developing country.
